You pick the approach during the planning board scene: loud through the main gate, or quiet through the drainage canal. The Sugar Mill is the first full heist and sets the tone for how Jason and Lucia operate together, so the choice shapes more than one mission.
What loadout do you need for the Sugar Mill heist?
For the quiet approach, bring the machete and a suppressed pistol. Guards patrol in pairs on the upper catwalk — wait for the radio call before moving between cover, and the patrol pattern opens up.
What is the fastest escape from the Sugar Mill?
Escape through Grassrivers by airboat. Stash one at the dock during the setup phase and the final chase becomes trivial — the wetlands cut off any pursuit that stays on the road.
